Care to pick some limes? - a photo on Flickriver

            Ogeechee tupelo (Nyssa ogeche), also called Ogeechee-lime, is a scarce small tree found along rivers and swamps of the Coastal Plain.  It requires a very moist site and lives along the borders of rivers, swamps, and ponds that are frequently inundated. It grows naturally from the border of South Carolina near the coast through the Ogeechee Valley in Georgia to Clay County in northern Florida and Washington County in western Florida.(Wikipedia) These are growing adjacent to the Canoochee River in Groveland, GA. 

When you're fishing in the river, ever so often you will hear a "ploop" -the sound of the ripe limes falling off of the trees into the water.  The fruit is not very big, about the size of a peanut in a shell.
