Dins dels odonats (libelules i cavallets del dimoni) també hi ha victimes i caçadors, especialment, com podeu veure aquí, quan hi ha diferencies importants de mida dins aquest ordre d'insectes. La gran libelula posada en vertical és un anisopter, crec que aeshna cyanea. Per contra els més petits (que estan posant ous) son caballets del dimoni de la especia chalcolestes viridis.

La aeshna cyaena és un dels odonats més grans d'Europa, arribant als 76mm de llargada, el que el fa un depredador brutal. De fet quan et passa a prop sembla un helicopter de combat en miniatura.

L'escena fou molt ràpida, pero es força probable que acabés en tragedia per la víctima en qüestió.

Although all odonates are predators, they also kill among themselves. Specially when there's a huge size difference, as in this case.

The big dragonfly is a Southern Hawker (aeshna cyaena), one of the biggest dragonflies in Europe, and the smaller ones are damselflies, of the chalcolestes viridis species.
