El Pont del Diable, a Martorell. De fet el pont actual és una reconstrucció de la postguerra civil, ja que el volaren durant la retirada republicana. La major part de la estructura és gòtica, construit el 1283 sobre les restes del pont original romà, que data d'època d'August. També sobreviu a la banda oriental un arc triomfal romà, força malmès. És l'unic arc triomfal a Catalunya, apart del molt més famós de Berà.

Per desgràcia, apart del seu estat saquejat des de fa segles, aquest arc sobreviu com pot enforquillat entre la carretera, el tren i diversos ponts de ciment.

The "Pont del Diable" seen from the ancient Roman settlement of Ad Fines, now Martorell. Ad Fines means "in the limit", and that (administrative) limit sure was the Llobregat river. Martorell has also a Latin origin, meaning "small cemetery" (martiroletum).

This is the so called Pont del Diable, "Devil's Bridge", in Martorell Catalonia. It's a Roman origin bridge, mostly rebuilt in gothic style in the Middle Ages (and rebuilt in the XX Century after it was blown up during the spanish civil war). It was part of the Via Augusta between Rome and Gades, and has a Roman triumphal arch in it's eastern end. Sadly, the triumphal arch was looted for carved stone centuries ago, and now survives cramped between the river and the road, railway and concrete bridges.
