Sant Serni de Tavèrnoles - a photo on Flickriver

Anant cap a Andorra segurament us heu fixat que hi ha, poc després de sortir de La Seu d'Urgell, una església mig aterrada a l'altre cantó del Valira. Es tracta de les restes del que devia ser la impressionant esgésia romànica del monestir de Sant Serni de Tavèrnoles. Actualment només en resta en bon estat la capçalera, així com part dels murs de les naus (un carrer passa pel mig del què era la nau). Unes cases ocupen el què era la seva façana.

Near the crowded road that links Catalonia with Andorra lays the ruins of the once mighty abbey of Sant Serni de Tavernoles. The apses where restored in the XX Century, and now are it's main remains, althoug part of the walls of all the church can be seen, and the former façade is now a house, as you can see to the right of the picture.
