St. Brendan the Navigator Monument - a photo on Flickriver

            The St. Brendan the Navigator Monument, also known as The Skellig Monks, is a sculpture created by Eamon Doherty. It depicts four monks, including St. Brendan, in a boat supported by eight oars as they navigate to the monastery on Skellig Michael, an island off the coast of Ireland. The monument was installed in 1995.

The sculpture represents Saint Brendan (ca. 485-ca. 577) and his fellow monks on their voyage to the monastery at Skellig Michael, where they founded an early monastery on the rocks off the Kerry coast. Ring of Kerry.
