The Sage from New York in California

            Circa 1969 at Pine Jr. High in Los Alamitos, Calif.  I'm not sure what was being discussed but it must have been rather amusing judging by the expressions on my friends' faces.

The young man in the middle was a native New Yorker. I remember that he would actually trade friendly banter in class with native Bostonian Miss Rodgers, our teacher in US History class. He definitely had opinions and comments that he wasn't afraid to voice, often eliciting a chuckle amongst the others.

When the Miracle Mets of 1969 won the World Series, my friend couldn't contain himself.

On football game days, team members wore neckties with their shirts and slacks. This was one of those days. The two young men whose backs are toward the camera were also football team members. After college when I started on my career, I found out that one of the Operations Department Supervisors at the plant was the father of the one wearing eyeglasses!

These guys had such typical first names for their generation: Steve, Mike John, Larry and David.
