Preserved Morecambe & Heysham Corporation - 73 MTE635 - AEC Regent Mk.III 6812A - Weymann

            New to Morecambe & Heysham, in 02/1951, this fine Regent passed to City of Lancaster, on 01/04/1974, on the merger of the two municipal undertakings in local government reorganisation. It was the only closed top Regent to receive the City of Lancaster blue. Alongside is fellow preserved Morecambe & Heysham 69, LTF254, a Park Royal bodied AEC Regent Mk.III 9621E. It was new to Morecambe & Heysham in 07/1950. They are seen here on display in their former home town at the Ribble Vehicle Preservation Trust's Morecambe Rally & Running Day, who's main base for the day was the Mazuma Stadium, home of Morecambe FC, on 22/05/2022. The destination display of Christie Park, or 'Crusty Pie' as it was known by many, on 69, was the former home of Morecambe FC. and was situated on Lancaster Road. A Sainsbury's supermarket has now taken it's place. © Peter Steel 2022.
