Preserved Leyland Vehicles, Workington - REV 01 WHH556S - Leyland National 11351A/2R

            This smart preserved development vehicle for Leyland National was originally a two-door built model, but has since been converted to single door and has now been preserved in it's original livery. New in 03/1978, and now fitted with a DAF engine, it is seen here on Queen's Dock Car Park, Whitehaven, on 30/04/2023, during the second day of the 'Leyland National 51' celebrations that were organised by the Workington Transport Heritage Trust, its home event, to commemorate fifty-one years since the entry into service of the first National to be constructed at the Lillyhall plant that is situated near Workington. This excellent event was organised after the success of the 'Leyland National 50' event. © Peter Steel 2023.
