Preserved Barrow Corporation Transport - 20 CEO720W - Leyland National 2 NL116L11/1R

            This smart National 2 was the first numerically of four, 20-3, CEO720-3W, bought new by Barrow, in 09/1980, and now smartly preserved by the Workington Transport Heritage Trust after being acquired by them from a couple of Barrow based preservationists who had done a fair amount of base work. It is seen here at the gates of the former Leyland National plant at Lillyhall, Workington, on 30/04/2023, during the second day of the 'Leyland National 51' celebrations that were organised by the Workington Transport Heritage Trust, its home event, to commemorate fifty-one years since the entry into service of the first National to be constructed at Lillyhall. This excellent event was organised after the success of the 'Leyland National 50' event. This National would then return to West Strand, Whitehaven. © Peter Steel 2023.
