Preserved Merseyside Transport - 7000 OHF858S - Leyland National 11351A/1R

            Delivered to Merseyside PTE, in 05/1978, and fitted with 45 Dual-purpose seats, this National entered the preservation scene during 2013 after having an extensive restoration. It is seen here climbing A5094 New Road, Whitehaven, during the Workington Transport Heritage Trust's second day of the excellent 'Leyland National 51' rally and running day, on 30/04/2023. This event was organised on the back of the previous year's successful 'Leyland National 50' event that commemorated fifty years since the entry into service of the first National to be constructed at the Lillyhall plant that is situated near Workington. They National is heading for a 'photoshoot' at the former Leyland National plant. © Peter Steel 2023.
