Big war effort in Grassington - a photo on Flickriver

            I was very surprised to see so many visitors to Grassington village on Saturday. Initially I guessed it may have had something to do with a rise in tourism due to the TV re-make series of "All Creatures Great and Small", with James Herriot's fictional village of Darrowby being portrayed here. 

When I got into the village square it became apparent that there was a bit of an informal 1940's event going on. I later learned that 'Grassington 1940's Weekend 2020' had been scheduled but cancelled that weekend. Many vehicles & people in costume seem to have turned up regardless.
