Grain Belt - a photo on Flickriver

Grain Belt

The landmark Grain Belt beer sign; downtown Minneapolis, Minnesota. The original Grain Belt brewery was located a mile up the Mississippi River from this location. However, the brand declined and the brewery closed in the 70's. The Grain Belt brand has been sold a few times since then and today is still brewed by the August Schell Brewing Company in New Ulm, Minnesota. Thankfully, this brand seems to be making a comeback in the area. Also, according to a bottle of Grain Belt, this sign was erected in the 1940's and measures 40' x 40'.
