The red ginger flower represents intense passion. These flowers symbolize strength, prosperity as well as diversity. The general flower meaning for ginger flowers is proud and majestic. These flowers are sometimes used as substitute for roses.

History
Ginger, along with black pepper, were considered highly valuable trade commodities in 13th and 14nth century England. One pound of ginger traded for the same amount as a sheep. The country of India brought ginger to the Romans as far back as 2,000 years ago. The Romans used the plant for its medicinal value.
