A history of point and shoot cameras

I've built up a random collection of cameras over the years. The two cameras on the right are family cameras, purchased new. The two in the middle were £4 impulse car boot sale finds. And the two on the left I got on-line, but again, for random reasons.

A few weeks ago I decided to do some research, and put these and other cameras (folding, TLR, rangefinder, SLR, MILC etc) in a proper historical context, to understand their development and so on.

Well, it has been a fun assignment, and turned into three YouTube videos. I've just posted the first one, on cameras up to 1930.

A Greasemonkey script that adds Flickriver links to various Flickr photo pages - user photos, favorites, pools etc, allowing to quickly open the corresponding Flickriver view.

Also, allows quickly viewing any Flickr photo on black background in large size.
