Rakaia River Storm

            Driving back from Tekapo on Sunday we caught the start of a monstrous thunderstorm that dumped on us the rest of the way home. I ran out to the riverbank through knee-high water (on the track - not in the main current!) with my camera and tripod, hoping to get there before the rain started. Unfortunately the hailstorm caught me just after I'd grabbed a few shots and I had to pack up and wade back... in the ~10 minutes shooting I was wading back through crotch-deep water!
