116 years in motion - a photo on Flickriver

            Frontal view of one of the circa-1897 generators at the hydro plant, still producing 750,000 watts of power each when condition are ideal.

The plant operator told me that this and the five others still running do need parts every so often, and of course they no longer are available, but a steel shop down the road a ways can usually fabricate something to replace the original cast iron.

In this photo you can see the hatches to the turbines behind the wall, and some much newer control equipment.
