37519, 6P43 heads south at Penshaw,Leamside route.This was the last ever train to run over the entire route. 23-6-93

            This is the only image I have found of the last train ever round the Leamside other than my own. 
 I was the driver . 
The track has been lifted here and its totally overgrown since.

 I believe this image is the work of the late IS Carr.( How he found out the train was running remains a mystery. I only knew 2 days beforehand !) I can just make out the vague outline of my head behind the drivers windscreen.
The loco was scrapped by Booths of Rotherham in March 2008.
