Welcome aboard

            That's the forward boarding door behind me. Between me and the door, there's a small recess the flight attendant would use to stand clear of the exit and direct an evacuation. I use it to make my arrival announcements.
One time, my best friend was arriving for a visit and I arranged to be the agent meeting his flight. 
We have a running joke about each other having an odor (it's a long story.) I thought briefly of ending my announcement with "And for those folks seated in the vicinity of row 23, my apologies for the odor." Most of the people onboard would have been clueless what I was talking about, and my friend would have moderately humiliated in a good way.
It's a good thing I didn't! A couple, also traveling in the back near row 23, had their cat on board in a carrier under the seat. The cat was pretty stressed and had pooped itself repeatedly. Needless to say the smell was appalling and the couple were terribly embarrassed and apologetic to those around them! I would have embarrassed them even more if I'd made that announcement!
