Rome & Fort Bull RR, Rome, NY - a photo on Flickriver

            The Rome & Fort Bull RR was a narrow gauge railroad which operated at Erie Canal Village in Rome, NY, built as part of the cities urban renewal project. This is how I remember the village, but sadly it has been permanently closed, and many historical buildings are now in poor shape. The railroad was out for a number of years, and to the best of my knowledge was last operated in 2013 with different locomotive and rail cars. I'm pretty sure that the tracks are still there, but heavily overgrown in most spots. The depot is the former New York Central station at McConnellsville. It was moved to this location in 1974. It still stands and is visible from route 46 south.
