over 15 years ...

            ... since beth and i last saw one another. 

before that, we had seen each other maybe once in the previous 5, i think?
in between we hadn't spoken or emailed, just because life seems to be like that 
for so many of us these days.

we met working at the child assault prevention program of northern california in the late 80's.
it was an instant, fully grown friendship, and a sisterhood as if from birth.

this woman is one of the best ever human beings on this planet, no contest.
she is a joy, a scamp, an incredibly smart, wise, empathetic, loving, kind,
hard working, arms-wide-open, enduring, hysterically fun & funny person.

(remind me to tell the story of our disguise as door-to-door lesbian-feminist survey-takers who - 
solicited by a co-worker - crashed a private 40th birthday party of a woman who was crazy about
bruce springsteen.)

she does nothing short of make everyone's life happier, healthier, better.

i am so lucky to know beth, it is an honor, i am graced,
to have her as one of my dearest ever friends.
i love her with all of my heart.

and i'll never let time pass like that again .....
