Train, trucks and silos - a photo on Flickriver

            Travelling further out of Greater Houston scenes such as this at El Campo become more common. 

A freight rail service returned to the area in 2009 courtesy of Kansas City Southern, this rail line connecting Rosenberg and Victoria. It has become an increasingly important part of the  main line that connects the heartland of the United States with the heartland of Mexico where KCS subsidiaries have major investment. In this photo KCS locomotive 4585 hauls an empty consist of wagons, those at the front being car transporters.

The silos are those of the old El Campo Rice Milling Company, still in at least partial use, primarily for deer corn.
