Double Tap - a photo on Flickriver

Double Tap

            Last night was perfect.  I had this evening planned out in my head.  I was going to cruise up in the hills with a fresh Dough Trader pizza and a couple ginger ales, explore some old logging roads, hopefully find a perfect little cliff outcropping that I've never seen before to give me a good angle of Crow Peak, and maybe grab a couple nice lightning photos if it decided to storm.  And storm it did.  The outcropping I had hoped for appeared out of the trees, the pizza-picnic was delicious, and best of all, Kelsey, the mutts, and I got to watch a massive supercell crawl right up over the backside of Crow until it was directly over us in all it's glory.  Ground shaking thunder and lightning flashed all around us as I tried a few different camera angles until it was time, Kelsey was screaming, "Get in the car!"  I obeyed right as the rain and hail hit.  We crammed the 4runner under a large pine to soften the blow until the worst had passed then finished the night off by crashing out to the sound of rain on the sunroof.  Like I said, It was pretty perfect.
