            Corallorhiza mertensiana fma. albolabia, the Western Coralroot orchid, (white-lipped form).

White lip and contrasting yellow sepals and petals! A gorgeous colour form of the Western Coralroot. Many smaller flowers on a ~30 cm tall stem - striking and beautiful!

This was another 'first' for me on this trip. We found several of the 'yellow' variety like this. I'm told that this area has an above-average percentage of this variety compared to the normal form. Thanks to all who suggested we visit this location.
