Where am I ?

            Do you sense the suffocating atmosphere that weighs upon this place? What lies concealed up above?

The darkness lingers, and a dense shroud of mist obstructs my view of whatever lies in wait. Alone, I embark on ascending the steps, for behind me, the forest sprawls endlessly.

Branches snap, shattering the prevailing silence. Occasionally, it's as though the pine needles on the ground stir to life, yet no soul materializes...

A handful of flickering lights valiantly battle the encroaching darkness, betraying a human presence and hinting that I'm not entirely solitary.

I call out... Silence persists. Who could have kindled these lanterns? What was once a source of solace now morphs abruptly into a nagging disquiet... Do specters roam this place? Have I stepped into an alternate reality? Have I arrived in Silent Hill?
