O Barroco Missioneiro
Quando analisadas por historiadores de arte, a imaginária missioneira é identificada como parte do movimento artístico do Barroco. O Barroco Missioneiro tem características peculiares em relação ao movimento Barroco em geral, considerando que o Barroco Missioneiro surge e se desenvolve dentro de um isolamento  das populações das reduções e na necessidade de catequização, fatores que determinam a sua diferenciação e originalidade artística.

Além de esculturas do barroco missioneiro, o acervo é formado também por artefatos de metais como sinos e bigorna e demais esculturas religiosas em arenito.

O Museu das Missões é um museu brasileiro, localizado na cidade de São Miguel das Missões, no Rio Grande do Sul.[1] A criação do museu foi uma das primeiras iniciativas do Serviço do Patrimônio Histórico e Artístico Nacional, hoje IPHAN.
