New Zealand Pigeon (Hemiphaga novaeseelandiae)

            Do they contemplate? This  New Zealand Pigeon sat for a while and then ate some leaves (not fruit). Seen on Ulva Island, a sanctuary of rare birds within Stewart Island, off the south coast on South Island New Zealand.
