La tradotta portuale (Foto del Mese n. 132 – Aprile 2021)

Il Porto di Messina, per la sua posizione strategica al centro del Mediterraneo è stato sempre un punto di riferimento per scambi commerciali. Lungo le sue banchine sono anche presenti binari ferroviari che consentono il trasbordo delle merci dai treni alle navi, e viceversa.
In questa foto, collocabile negli anni ’70, vediamo la D.143.3044 impegnata nella movimentazione di una lunga teoria di carri pianali – prevalentemente Rgs – proprio sulle banchine portuali del capoluogo peloritano

Shunting in the port (Photo of the Month n. 132 - April 2021)

The Port of Messina, due to its strategic position in the center of the Mediterranean Sea, has always been a reference point for commercial exchanges. Along its docks there are also railway tracks that allow the transshipment of goods from trains to ships, and vice versa.
In this photo, which can be placed in the 1980s, we see the D.143.3044 engaged in the handling of a long series of flat wagons - mainly Rgs type- right on the docks of the Peloritan capital.
