Submarine Repair Shop - a photo on Flickriver

            One advantage of shooting industrial sites during the day (as opposed to night) is that there is more activity, and thus increased chance of access through doors that might otherwise be locked.

I saw that the huge front door to Building 680 (I'll show that one soon) was open, so walked right in. I was stopped at the "front desk", and I asked if I could take photos. Sure, but I was not allowed to wander around as I did not have a hard hat.

This building had just been leased to Blu Homes, a manufacturer of modular homes, and it was being prepared with new locks, and generally cleaned up.

This is one of the Navy's larger buildings, measuring 256,000 square feet, 80 feet ceilings, and 14,000 amps of power. What a great studio!
