Alpenglow on the Cathedral Range, Yosemite

            The clouds from earlier in the day did not stick around for sunset, but that did not prevent the sky from showing some colors. This is looking due West, from a ridge above May Lake. Cathedral Peak is on the left, and I believe that is Echo Peak on the right.

I did not carry a tripod on this trip, in a effort to make the pack lighter. I hand-held the camera, figuring the anti-shake, high ISO, and shutter speed were enough to make the image sharp. A lesser camera would have had a harder time with this photo. At more than 5 lbs (camera and 2 lenses and stuff), I am not sure I want to carry this beast (EOS 5D Mark III)  into the wilderness again.
