El barrio de Cimadevilla se encuentra en un entorno histórico e idílico, donde pasado y presente se dan de la mano con facilidad. Con el Cantábrico impregnando de sabor y aroma cada calle empedrada, Cimadevilla es una atracción para turistas, pero también para lugareños. En torno a sus edificios de arquitectura tradicional se reúnen para frecuentar los locales más alternativos de Gijón y también aquellos que llevan décadas en pie. Cimadevilla es, en fin, tradición y modernidad. El barrio impredecible de la ciudad asturiana.

Cimadevilla es el barrio más antiguo de Gijón, su casco antiguo. Tanto es así que todavía se puede disfrutar de las huellas que el imperio romano dejó a su paso. Aún se distinguen los restos de una muralla y unas termas en esta península de Santa Catalina, que tomó su nombre de la antigua capilla de Santa Catalina.
Lo que sobre todo destaca en Cimadevilla, en cualquier caso, es el carácter marinero que caracteriza a todas las localidades que crecen en torno al mar. En este caso, la estética de barrio de pescadores del siglo XIX es la que domina el conjunto.

The neighborhood of Cimadevilla is located in a historical and idyllic setting, where the past and present easily coexist. With the Cantabrian Sea imparting flavor and aroma to every cobbled street, Cimadevilla is an attraction for tourists as well as locals. Around its traditionally built buildings, people gather to visit the most alternative venues in Gijón, as well as those that have been standing for decades. Cimadevilla embodies tradition and modernity, making it an essential neighborhood in the Asturian city.

Cimadevilla is the oldest neighborhood in Gijón, its old town. So much so, that you can still enjoy the traces left by the Roman Empire. The remains of a wall and some baths can still be distinguished on the Santa Catalina Peninsula, which takes its name from the ancient Chapel of Santa Catalina.
What stands out the most in Cimadevilla, in any case, is the maritime character that characterizes all the towns growing around the sea. In this case, the 19th-century fishing village aesthetic dominates the whole neighborhood.
