My impression about Sofia, a city that lies at the foot of Mount Vitosha and approximately at the centre of the Balkan Peninsula. The city within itself preserves the history and remains of the Celtic tribe as well as the Ottoman Empire. The city was completely rebuilt by Emperor Justinian after being completely detroyed by Huns. The great fortress walls, brick roads can still be seen today. However, predominently the fountains, mosques, hamams are inherited from Turks who ruled this city for around 4 centuries. When roaming around in Sofia, the city itself speaks for it's romance with nations and emprors who struggled to hold control over it. Russians in 1878 took over Sofia, whereas in World War II it was again bombed heavily. The establisment of Communist government after the
world war has substantially changed the architecture of the city.However, city itself seems to be uncared , 
polluted and to my experience not so open to foreigners. However, the outskirts of the area are definitely impressive, and national history museam is surely a treat for history lovers.
