Museum of Silesia - one of the buildings awaiting the second stage of the project.

            The new seat of the Museum of Silesia has been designed by the Riegler Riewe Architekten studio from Austria. 

The main exposition halls are located underground, while the historical buildings of the Ferdinand Coal Mine on the surface remain undisturbed. The glass cubes are skylights allowing natural light to enter the museum halls. 

The museum will be opened in 2015. Unfortunately due to political manipulations it has become a symbol of Poland's destructive policy against the history of its regions and ethnic minorities. It's enough to say, the director of this institution has lost his job, because the main historical exposition presenting the history of the development of this industrial region was politically incorrect, not focusing on the typically polish antigerman ideology. In protest to the actions of the Polish politicians, the Museum has lost its merithorical council, whose members (mostly scientists of the University of SIlesia) decided to stop supporting the institutions. 

Thus it's going to be a beautiful, yet in fact empty building, presenting false ideology and nationalistic propaganda.
