B-52 Stratofortress pair ‘61-0034’ and ‘60-0005’. 31-8-2020

            Two Boeing B-52H Stratofortress are seen heading for Northern Europe having just cleared the Daventry corridor. Temporarily deployed to RAF Fairford, they are from the 23rd Bomb Squadron, part of the 5th Bomb Wing based at Minot AFB in North Dakota.
The lead aircraft is 61-0034 “Checkmate” which is c/n 464461 and was flying as ‘DUMP11’, while behind is 60-0005 “War Birds” which is c/n 464370 and was flying as ‘DUMP12’.
They were seen from Peterborough, Cambridgeshire, UK
