Our breath beyond

            The work “Our breath beyond” is made up of 3 bronze sets which symbolize hospitality, transmission and care. This work in homage to the nursing profession is an integral part of the new public square created during the redevelopment of Avenue des Pins.

The place is ideal for honoring the nursing profession: it is next to the Hôtel-Dieu, the mother house of the Religious Hospitallers of Saint-Joseph, the Royal Victoria Hospital and rue Jeanne-Mance, bearing the name of the co-founder of Montreal who was also a nurse.

“Our breath beyond” is created by the artists Véronique La Perrière M. and Fiona Annis from the collective La société des archives affectives.

This work is a donation which mobilized more than 400 donors, at the initiative of four nurses Catherine McIninch Murphy, Judith Norton, Maureen Fitzgerald, Brenda Brown.
