*Saarpolygon in the evening sun* - a photo on Flickriver

            The Saarpolygon in Ensdorf is a steel sculpture and a monument in memory of the hard coal mining in the Saar region, which finally ended in June 2012 (Source: Wikipedia).

The observation tower stands on a mining waste dump and, with an area of ​​almost 50 hectares and a height of 150 meters, is one of the largest of its kind.

Der Aussichtsturm steht auf einer Abraumhalde des Bergbaus und gehört mit fast 50 Hektar Grundfläche und 150 Metern Höhe zu den größten ihrer Art.
