            Union Station platform track with an Amtrak operated Santa Fe Pullman Standard lightweight stainless steel coach along side and the United Air Craft Turbo Train is seen on another platform track at Los Angeles, California, August 23, 1971.  A conductor or trainman is standing on the platform with his signal hand lantern.  The UAC Turbo Train was making a tour around America for display.  The Turbo train appears to be rather oily at this point in time.  It was always interesting to note how the Santa Fe kept the trucks and underbody on their passenger equipment clean and well painted.  You can see escaping water vapor coming from the sleeping car's steam line connection pipe.

The name of the photographer is unknown and it came from a photo that was on the Internet. This photo has been cropped and modified from the original to improve its appearance.
