Whitesville - a photo on Flickriver

Whitesville

            Cruising along at 25 mph with four cars for Limedale, J771 will bounce along the jointed rail for another couple hours. It's hard to picture Monon C628's and F3's once trod these same rails with time freights and passenger trains. It's been more of a secondary line for many years, having lost its signal system south of Crawforsdville in the mid-1990's. Local freight and unit trains still pass here and that jointed rail still sings its song a few times each day.
