marching riot police at exarcheia - athens 13 dec 2008

            One week exactly after the cold blooded murder of the 15 year old boy by a policeman, people gathered at the shooting point (exarcheia) for a memorial. Sadness became anger right after riot police troops surrounded the area. The presence of the police provoked the feelings of the - until that time - peaceful crowd. The police tried to break the gahtering by the use of tear-gas. The police started to push the crowd away and some of the people made barricades and set them on fire. At the same time the (secret) police was everywhere and everyone's movement was under surveillance.
