Grizzly Bear Family - Explored - a photo on Flickriver

            I just returned from a trip to Yellowstone NP and I'm a bit overwhelmed as I start going through my images. Our first afternoon in the park we encountered this Grizzly family. It was my first experience of a "BEAR jam". Rangers were on the road trying to control the crowd that was watching the bears. At one point the family disappeared behind some thick brush. Everyone else moved down the road trying to see them. But I could see an opening that they were likely to walk across, so I waited. I was not disappointed. Mom and her two cubs came out into the gap and had some beautiful rim light. Taken on a Don Quintana photo safari.
