THEODORIANA: Looking at the world from above/ ΘΕΟΔΩΡΙΑΝΑ : Βλέποντας τον κόσμο από ψηλά

            Theodoriana is a big village of the prefecture of Arta and is nestled on the slopes of Eastern Tzoumerka. The description of the route that leads to the village is very poor in words to describe the impressive landscape. The asphalt road from Athamanio ascends steadily to the ridge of Stavros at 1400m. altitude. One stop there is necessary as the view is stunning (if the weather allows it). Acheloos river, the villages of Tzoumerka,  the Agrafa mountain range and the Amvrakikos gulf are the picture we are looking at. From this point onwards the downhill road begins, the village appears with the bare peaks on top of it, as if they protect it. In four kilometers we are in the village square and we read the sign that informs us that we are at an altitude of 980m. The tourist maps refer to it as the most watershed village in Greece. With two rivers, waterfalls and dozens of springs, the area is a small paradise.

Τα Θεοδώριανα είναι ένα κεφαλοχώρι του νομού Άρτας και βρίσκεται φωλιασμένο στις πλαγιές των Ανατολικών Τζουμέρκων. Η περιγραφή  της διαδρομής που οδηγεί  στο χωριό είναι πολύ φτωχή σε λέξεις για να περιγράψει το εντυπωσιακό τοπίο. Ο ασφάλτινος δρόμος απο Αθαμάνιο ανηφορίζει με συνεχείς στροφές μέχρι τη ράχη του Σταυρού στα 1400μ. υψόμετρο. Η στάση απαραίτητη, η θέα εκπληκτική (αν το επιτρέπει ο καιρός). Ο Αχελώος, τα χωριά των Τζουμέρκων, τα Άγραφα μακριά και ο Αμβρακικός κόλπος είναι η εικόνα που αντικρύζουμε. Από το σημείο αυτό και μετά αρχίζει η κατηφόρα, το χωριό εμφανίζεται με τις γυμνές και δυσπρόσιτες κορυφές από πάνω του, που θαρρείς και το προστατεύουν . Σε τέσσερα χιλιόμετρα είμαστε στην πλατεία του χωριού και διαβάζουμε την πινακίδα που μας πληροφορεί ότι  βρισκόμαστε σε υψόμετρο 980μ. Οι τουριστικοί χάρτες το αναφέρουν σαν το χωριό με τα περισσότερα νερά στην Ελλάδα. Με δύο ποτάμια , καταρράκτες και δεκάδες πηγές η περιοχή είναι ένας μικρός παράδεισος.
