Interiors of Palamau Fort on hilltop

            There are two forts at Betla, both referred to as Palamau Fort. 
The first which is visible driving from Betla is this one sitting pretty on top of a hillock. 

Visited less by the tourists and more by the locals, this is the huge open courtyard which one encounters after entering the fort premises.

The Palamau forts were the seat of Chero kings during 17th century. The most famous Chero king was Medini Roy who along with his son had sufficient contribution in building up these fort
