Everybody Loves A Man In Uniform - a photo on Flickriver

For the first couple of days of my end-of-year visit to New York, I was convinced I was being stalked by a man in an Elmo suit. Everywhere I went, he seemed to be there. Eventually, of course, I realized that there were several men wandering the streets of New York dressed in the same shaggy red costume, all of them hoping to collect a few dollars in return for posing in tourists' photographs. I even came across one sat on a grassy knoll in Central Park, Elmo head by his side, feverishly counting dollar bills. Sadly, in the photo I took of that scene, you couldn't see clearly enough what it was he had in his hands, otherwise it would have been just about the perfect shot.
