Fogbow over Freshwater West - a photo on Flickriver

            Freshwater West is famous for being one of the best beaches in Wales, with a sandy beach over a mile long and the perfect aspect for sunsets all year round.

It has featured prominently in several major movies including Robin Hood and Harry Potter, and is great too for surfing

Unfortunately, the morning I was there was thick fog, occasionally interspersed with rays of sunshine when the sun was able to momentarily breakthrough. 

While I wasn’t able to see the beach itself, I did catch my first ever “fog bow” – an actual thing (I googled it!) – basically, it’s a white rainbow created by mist//fog and sunlight. I was lucky to be able to snatch this shot during the 5 minutes or so it was visible and use it to frame the composition of the seaweed-drying hut on the top of the sand dunes set back from the beach
