A Long Stretch - a photo on Flickriver

A Long Stretch

            Down a muddy path balanced on top of my ladders using the benefit of the camera flip-out screen is what it took to capture this in Horbury Cutting, oh and a long stretch to miss the trees on the right.

66197 rounds the bend in Horbury Cutting close to the old junction with the Crigglestone Loop, I like to look at old 25” Ordnance Survey Maps of spots recently visited, interestingly, the 1919 map for here shows the Lancashire & Yorkshire Railway as a two-track railway, but with the bridge as the portal to Horbury Tunnel.
