A tug in Poplar Dock Marina - a photo on Flickriver

This is an old tug in Poplar Dock Marina, in Boardwalk Place, at the north east of the Isle of Dogs, in east London, which opened in 1999 on the site of a railway dock that was open from 1851 to 1981. Behind it is the really rather monstrous New Providence Wharf development by Ballymore, which is a "mixed Use Riverside development on 8.2 acres of former Brownfield site," including "1,050 residential units, 50,000 sq m of offices and retail" and the "luxury 180 room Radisson Edwardian Hotel." Photo taken on July 25, 2012, after I had taken a tour around the perimeter of the Olympic Park, two days before the Olympic Games began.
