Cranes in Poplar Dock Marina - a photo on Flickriver

These are old cranes in Poplar Dock Marina, in Boardwalk Place, at the north east of the Isle of Dogs, in east London, which opened in 1999 on the site of a railway dock that was open from 1851 to 1981. Behind the cranes are apartments built following the creation of the marina. Photo taken on July 25, 2012, after I had taken a tour around the perimeter of the Olympic Park, two days before the Olympic Games began.
