            Necropoli di Montessu
La necropoli di Montessu è un sito archeologico prenuragico situato nel comune di Villaperuccio in provincia di Carbonia-Iglesias.
Ricavata in un grande anfiteatro naturale la necropoli  conta circa quaranta domus de janas ed è considerata una delle più vaste e importanti di tutta la Sardegna. Risalente al periodo prenuragico (III millennio a.C.), questo sito funerario venne utilizzato per circa un millennio durante il quale si avvicendarono diverse culture. Alcune domus  sono caratterizzate da motivi incisi a rilievo tra i quali spiccano le spirali, i simboli concentrici e le corna taurine.

The Necropolis of Montessu is an archaeological site located in the municipality of Villaperuccio, 
Set within a large natural amphitheater, the necropolis has about forty domus de janas and is considered one of the largest and most important archaeological site of Sardinia. Dating back to pre-Nuragic period (third millennium BC), this burial site was used for about a millennium during which alternated different  cultures.
Some domus  feature engraved patterns in relief such as spirals, concentric symbols and bull horns.
