Significance of a prominent, shapely boulder indoors

            While the space around residential buildings in Japan sometimes includes prominent boulders to stand for strength and reminder of things other than human ones, sourcing and situating huge, heavy masses of rock in prominent view in front of houses of USA is much less often seen. To transport a big one like this for display indoors is rarer still. First impressions upon encountering this sight: "what is that doing here," "such abiding, unmovable presence," and "that was here long before people came to this part of the world; doubtless it will go on well after people are gone, too."

The duplicated dedication plaques on front and back give a statement by recent anonymous donor who supported this Covenant Learning Center. A reference to the first book in the Bible, Genesis, describes the relationship between people and the land in the role of stewards caring for something valuable.
