Restoration work after July 28 (1945) aerial bombing

            Rail yards like this one at today's Uji-Yamada (Kintetsu corporation) and nearby Ise-city station (JapanRail) were prime bombing targets in the last months of WWII. And the connection of Shinto with nationalism in those times was an added incentive to disrupt the flow of travelers and goods, too. But in 2023 this pre-War house and the 1920s or 1930s design of the big train station show no signs of the attacks. The explosions, fires, flying pieces of metal surely damaged everything nearby, but restoration work carefully repaired what was repairable. Many other buildings were beyond repair, though, so they are gone.
