One tree gone, one tree trimmed on March 21

            The big maple offers shade in summer, color in the autumn, and possibly a buffer from winter winds. At the same time it drops buds and leaves, and when freezing rain sticks, then there is a chance of branches or entire limbs breaking. Of course, it converts CO-2 into oxygen and is a refuge for various bugs, birds, and small mammals, too. In this timelapse the big old tree is trimmed back from encroaching on one of the neighbors. Meanwhile the evergreen is removed all together. It does somethings similar to the maple but at a smaller scale in its young life. If each tier of branches corresponds to a year of growth, then this one could be 35 or 45 years old, perhaps.
